To give you more clarity about your erection problem and its treatment, we have an online test where you will be able to see the degree of your erection problem. This test will also be the starting point for your first consultation, where we will review your problem and plan YOUR course of treatment. The test will be compared with your other health conditions, which will also be assessed at the first consultation.
The treatment and assessment of your erection problem is carried out by one of Denmark’s leading experts in urological shockwave treatment, Michael Strøm, who is also a member of The International Society for Sexual Medicine.
Before we start treatment, we do a thorough screening of the degree of your dysfunction, while also uncovering your medical history. We recommend that you have your doctor present, as we need to ensure that all blood levels and any associated diseases are under control. We also perform an ultrasound scan during the treatment to ensure there are no deposits of calcium in the penis.
We’ll talk about all this at your first consultation and guide you through the different solutions. At the same time, we will determine your expectations of the treatment and the level to which we expect to be able to move you. In addition, we need to look at the psychological aspects of life. This could be whether you are stressed, whether your relationship is working well and other factors that may come into play. At the same time, we find out whether it is a constant absence of erection or whether it is more situational.
This will be explored in depth to ensure we can put the right treatment strategy in place. It may also be that treatment will be more in the form of talk therapy, and there we will then refer to an external partner. We will determine this at the first treatment. It is recommended to supplement with an additional course after 6 months, or you can boost the nervous system with individual treatments as needed.
The actual treatment of erectile dysfunction with focused shockwave involves treating the diaphragm and shaft of the penis with shockwave. Here, the sound waves will increase blood flow and the formation of new blood vessels, as well as breaking down any calcifications and accumulations of cholesterol in the swelling membranes.
In this way, you will have an increased quality of your erection and experience a harder erection. The shockwave treatment itself lasts about 10-15 minutes, based on research-based protocols and the equipment the clinic has, which is the latest available.
The treatment is painless for you, and cannot be compared to if you have had it before in, for example, a shoulder. You will only feel a slight tingling. We will do an ultrasound scan of your diaphragm to see if you can control the muscles in your pelvic floor. This also helps to ensure that we hit the exact structures when we do the treatment. You are of course welcome to bring your partner to the treatment if it gives you more reassurance.
There are no risks and no known side effects to the treatment. However, in the hours or days after you may feel it “working” in the area. You will also be able to have sexual activity as usual throughout the course of treatment. However, it may affect positively in terms of bladder control, as well as the quality in lack of ejaculation.

We always perform a thorough ultrasound scan of the diaphragm and penis at the first treatment. We do this to make sure that the pelvic floor muscles are under control and that there are no calcifications or blockages in the swollen muscles. We have the latest and most advanced scanning equipment in the clinic, with probes targeting superficial structures and vessels.
What is seen as the most common cause of erection problems is poor circulation in general through atherosclerosis, which could also lead to calcifications in the swollen segments of the penis itself, which will impede blood circulation.
In addition, a clear link to erection problems is also seen in the use of medications to regulate blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes.
