Involuntary urination in men, shockwave treatment

Involuntary urination in men and women is effectively treated with shockwave and EMTT to give you better control over your urination

Involuntary urination relieved with focused shockwave

Living with incontinence can feel limiting and affect your daily life and confidence. But imagine a life where you have full control and freedom again. I, Michael, will help you regain that control and improve your quality of life.

By combining advanced techniques such as EMTT (Extracorporeal Magneto Transduction Therapy) and Shockwave therapy with specific pelvic floor exercises, I offer a holistic treatment that addresses the root of the problem. This is regardless of whether it's stress, urge or neurological incontinence. Treating the neural pathways and pelvic floor muscles is a key component of this approach, as it stimulates the muscles and nerve signals that are essential for bladder control. With the support of ultrasound scanning, I ensure that each treatment and the relevant exercises are precisely tailored to your needs.

I offer a treatment solution that is not seen anywhere else in Denmark. A course usually consists of 4-8 treatments. Using shockwave and EMTT, we have an opportunity to stimulate biological processes, rebuild and reactivate cells. It will also stimulate nerve activity and increase muscle control, allowing you to regain full control. I have gained international recognition and am known for my in-depth knowledge. That's why I treat clients of all ages from all over the Nordic region on a daily basis, and every patient is treated with care and respect. That's why you can feel safe.

Involuntary urination treatment without taboo or surgery for men and women.

When you first arrive, we will have a thorough and in-depth conversation and examination together to find the cause of your incontinence. We will review your lifestyle and discuss any medications and other things in your daily life that may affect urinary control. We perform a body composition measurement to give you an insight into the health of your body and finally, a series of detailed ultrasound scans of the pelvic floor. The scans form the basis for determining the most optimal treatment options and possible measures to train your pelvic floor.

Although incontinence is often perceived as taboo or difficult to talk about, in the clinic it's not. You'll feel completely at ease here, and you'll be met in a relaxed atmosphere when you come to me for your first examination and treatment. There's nothing wrong or embarrassing here.

I offer you a groundbreaking and painless combination of EMTT and shockwave therapy to regain control of your urination. And in October 2023 presented the results at a major shockwave therapy conference in London. And the best thing is that it is without side effects and surgery and pills are not the only solution to regain full control.

In addition to specializing in shockwave therapy, I am also a certified sexologist. Alongside the clinic, I teach other practitioners and specialists for shockwave and EMTT manufacturer Storz Medical worldwide.

Involuntary urination FAQ

  1. At the first examination, a thorough screening of the degree of incontinence, your physical and mental health status is performed. We talk about it openly about it and any lifestyle issues that may have an impact.
  2. I do an ultrasound scan of the pelvic floor and bladder to see how much control you have over your muscles and your bladder emptying ability. Therefore, wait to go to the toilet at the first treatment.
  3. Here we also identify whether it is stress, urge or neurological incontinence.
  4. Advanced body composition measurement and screening of body balances and health status with the Inbody770 system. Read more below.
  5. You will be guided on which pelvic floor exercises to start.
  6. Together we will set expectations for the treatment and what level we expect to be able to move you to, based on the results of the examination and the measures we agree on.
  7. Your process is planned so you can feel comfortable with the process

I offer you an effective course of treatment for Incontinence with shockwave & EMTT without side effects. You will regain a higher quality of life, thanks to a greater control over your urination and higher self-confidence that you previously had, after the end of treatment.

Using shockwave and EMTT, we stimulate the release of various growth factors in the bladder system, pelvic floor nerves, muscles and blood vessels. All processes and tissues that give you greater control over your urination. Completely without the unpleasant side effects that can be seen with certain types of medication or surgery.

A standard course of treatment consists of 4-8 treatments. The number is based on the severity of your incontinence and how long it has lasted.

The clinic is the only one in Denmark to offer this innovative combination treatment, where both muscles and nervous system are stimulated in combination with traditional training.

Stress incontinence: Picture this: You laugh out loud at a funny joke, or you sneeze unexpectedly, or you lift a shopping bag and you suddenly feel a small leak. This is stress incontinence. This happens when the pelvic floor muscles and sphincter muscles in the urethra weaken. When there is sudden pressure from activities like coughing, laughing or exercising, these weakened muscles can't hold back urine, leading to leakage. Here it is important to re-train the muscles and stimulate the nervous system for more control.

Possible Causes:

  • Childbirth: Vaginal delivery can weaken the muscles needed for bladder control and damage the nerves of the bladder.
  • Prostate surgery in men.
  • Age: As you get older, muscles can weaken.
  • Obesity: Extra weight increases pressure on the bladder and surrounding muscles.

Urge incontinence: Have you ever felt a sudden, overwhelming urge to use the toilet and found you couldn't make it in time? It's urge incontinence, sometimes called "overactive bladder." It's like your bladder is sending a super urgent message to "Go now!" even when it's not full. Here we work with increased control of the muscles, but just as much the nervous system, which needs to be calm and balanced. This is where EMTT makes a big difference.

Possible Causes:

  • Bladder infections: This can irritate the bladder, causing strong cravings.
  • Neurological disorders: Conditions such as stroke or Parkinson's disease can disrupt the signals between the brain and bladder.
  • Diabetes: High blood sugar can cause frequent urination and increase the risk of urge incontinence.

Neurogenic Incontinence: The brain, spinal cord and nervous system in our body work together to control the bladder. However, if there is a disruption in this system due to conditions such as spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis or other nerve-related disorders, it leads to neurogenic incontinence. It can manifest as unexpected leaks or not being able to empty the bladder completely. Here we work on regaining control of the nervous system and signals.

Possible Causes:

  • Spinal cord injuries: Damage to the spinal cord can disrupt nerve signals responsible for bladder control.
  • Diseases such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's: These can affect the nerves that regulate bladder function.
  • Birth defects: Conditions like spina bifida, where the spinal cord doesn't form correctly, can cause this type of incontinence.

A single shockwave treatment in combination with EMTT costs 1,500 Danish kroner. As the first in Denmark, we worked with the combination of Shockwave and EMTT in a Dutch setup where we see a higher effect due to an increased stimulation of the entire nervous system and more muscles in the pelvic floor than Shockwave alone.

Treatment is personal, discreet and in a locked room. The first consultation costs from 1,500-2,400 Danish kroner.

The actual treatment of incontinence with focused shockwave and EMTT is done by treating the perineum (bladder & prostate) with shockwave. Here, the sound waves will stimulate the nerves, muscles and blood vessels of the diaphragm, giving you increased control over your pelvic floor. A "side effect" can also be a harder erection. The shockwave treatment itself lasts about 15-20 minutes, based on research-based protocols and the equipment available at the clinic, which is the latest available. We then stimulate the entire area and nervous system with EMTT to increase the release of growth factors that stimulate the regeneration of the entire bladder system.

The treatment is painless for you, and cannot be compared to if you have had it before in, for example, a shoulder. You only feel a slight tingle. You are of course welcome to bring your partner to the treatment if it gives you more reassurance.

There are no risks and no known side effects of the treatment. However, in the hours or days after, you may feel that it is "working" in the area. You will also be able to have sexual activity as usual throughout the course of treatment.

The shockwave and EMTT treatment. There are good studies that EMTT and shockwave can help with female incontinence (referred to as PEMF). In addition, I have presented a breakthrough in the field in London in October 2023

EMTT Incontinence

We always perform a thorough ultrasound scan of the pelvic floor at the first treatment. We do this to ensure that the pelvic floor muscles are under control. In this way, we can help you to initiate the necessary and correct pelvic floor training.

We also measure the ability to empty the bladder and measure the thickness of the bladder wall.

It also helps to ensure that we hit the precise structures when doing the treatment, as we can adjust the depth of the sound waves. We have the latest and most advanced scanning equipment in the clinic, with probes targeting superficial structures and vessels.

To give you even more insight into your health status and to see if there are risk factors in relation to your general health, an advanced analysis is offered at the first treatment with an InBody770.

InBody 770 is an advanced body analysis machine used to measure body composition, muscle mass, fat percentage and more. This machine is capable of providing accurate and detailed measurements, making it suitable for analysis as an adjunct to treatment. It can provide an increased qualification about what response can be expected to shockwave treatment, in relation to the body's state of health.

It can also help track progress in training and dietary changes. Therefore, I also offer that you can have new measurements made in connection with any booster treatments after the initial course. Then you can see what effect your lifestyle changes have and how it affects your continence
