Restitution – the most important part of training

Prioritisation of recovery

At full speed, but what about recovery?

Ambitions are high, the goal is set and training is hard. But training is not everything, there must be time for recovery. I would even go so far as to say that recovery is the most important part of training, and should be given as much priority as a daily run or bike ride.

In the clinic, I see many athletes come in with both acute and chronic injuries from overtraining. Many injuries that could have been avoided if there had been a greater focus on recovery, and not least preventive treatment.

The foundation of the training

When training hard for a long time, it is necessary that the fundamental building blocks are in place. There needs to be a balance between training, diet, sleep and recharging (for non-sport activities).

Sleep is an important part of your training as, like your diet, it is a basic need that must be met for your body and mind to function optimally. It is when the body is at rest that it rebuilds itself. Too many take hours away from sleep to accomplish other “tasks” throughout the day along with training. Go for a minimum of 7 hours every night.

The diet takes care of itself, if there is no petrol in the tank, the car will get nowhere, the same goes for the body. If we don’t eat enough of the right things, our bodies won’t rebuild after training and won’t be ready to perform again.

But when we put a lot of wear and tear on our bodies, our muscles and joints need to loosen up and we need to get waste products out of our bodies. It’s about increasing blood flow to the tissues and getting the body to do the work. You can do this through recovery therapy , active recovery, lymphatic drainage and much more. In the clinic I have boots from Recover4you for the same purpose. The boots go in and increase blood flow and drain fluid in the legs, getting rid of waste products. You can read much more about the boots here . The concept is also used in combination with other treatments in the clinic, especially for acute injuries.

August offer – free treatment

Restitution is for everyone and doesn’t have to cost the tip of a jet fighter. That’s why I’m focusing on recovery in August, and offering everyone 2 free treatments in the boots of Recover4you for the whole month of August. This will increase your recovery and help you relax mentally. If you want more than the 2 treatments, the normal price is DKK 80 per treatment.

Simply book your treatments via online booking on the front page, and you’ll arrive at the clinic at the chosen time. Offer available on a first-come, first-served basis via online booking only. Note that it will cost 80 crowns, but is free in August Once you have made your booking, you will receive a confirmation by email or SMS. If you want to get news like this and about other things happening, sign up for the newsletter on the booking page.

Have a good recovery and see you in the clinic.
