Clinical Director for the Academy of Shockwave Excellence I USA

Last weekend I was invited to experience the 3-day shockwave event as part of my role as a clinical consultant at Kinas Medical.

I had a blast and did lab support under the different practical sessions with the rest of the skilled team and my good friend from UK Ove. He did a great job putting together the content for the weekend.

After the weekend and workshop, I spent some days with the Kinas family to lay down the roadmap for new adventures in the USA with shockwave as my new role as clinical director of the Academy, where I am taking over the role from Ove, that is gonna have more focus on advanced workshops and clinics in UK.

I am happy and looking forward to getting more involved in developing new projects, enhancing the instructors skills and making shockwave "simple" for the academy attendees. As a project next to the clinic in Copenhagen.

Blodværdier, sygdomme og rejsningsproblemer

Do you want to know more about Hematology and erectile dysfunction?

Then you should watch this video talk I did with the very knowledgeable doctor of hematology Eirik Tjønnfjord.

We talk about how different diseases in the blood can affect erectile function and general health.

And what to be aware of regarding this, when working with ESWT / shockwave for ED.

What should be tested, what is needed, and nice to know?

We talk specifically about
Cholesterol
Glucose
Testosterone
Blood thinners
Beta-blockers
Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura
and much more...

Ultralydsscanning af hjertet og rejsningsproblemer

This is a short video talk for everyone with an interest in treating Erectile dysfunction and point-of-care ultrasound, and how it is implemented in the clinic.
How can we start thinking and working across different specialties?

I am pleased to have cardiology fellow Ai Phi Thuy Ho from Norway joyning in this talk about Erectile Dysfunction and why you should be taking symptoms of erectile dysfunction seriously.

AI Phi is an ultrasound scanning specialist and runs the platform www.norvue.no, which offers high-quality ultrasound courses for different organs.

Get answers to the following and much more:
Why should symptoms of erectile dysfunction be taken seriously?

Which cardiovascular disease can lead to ED?

Which role can POCUS (point of care ultrasound) have in screening in ED other than the cardiologist, for a skilled sonographer?

Which actions can be taken besides the medication for cardiovascular diseases?

Læs mere her

Klinisk konsulent Kinas Medical

Today I am happy and excited to announce a new collaboration with Kinas Medical - Human Health run by Merri-Edna and Gerhard Kinas.

Their core values of education and knowledge within the technology makes a really good fit with my approach of shockwave as an art form, and not just a tool.

I’m very excited to step in and join the team.
My role will be to create clinical content for their educational platform and be a part of different workshops in the US in the future with the rest of the strong team.

They founded the company in 2000 with the focus of introducing ESWT technology. Their intense focus on education also made them start The Academy of Shockwave Excellence.
In that way, they can enhance the art of shockwave through high-quality workshops and clinical content presented by a dedicated team of international experts.

Today the first piece of content went online and is a part of a journey through all the different aspects of shockwave technology in the upcoming months.

Shockwave undervisning i Finland

Undervisning i shockwave for Findske behandlere

Magnetolith EMTT and how it makes a difference in clinical practice.

In March 2020 when the pandemic set Europe into lockdown, I had the delivery of the first Nordic EMTT device.

New novel technology, limited known protocols, and a basic introduction to the science behind. I must admit, I was a bit skeptical in the beginning, but during 2020 it had replaced more than 90% of my normal use of level 4 laser in the clinic. Which I normally combined with ESWT.

So let’s dive into my experience with the EMTT technology so far.

Knee osteoarthritis (and others)
The first cases I worked with, was osteoarthritis in the knee. I’ve been working for years with Level4laser and ESWT in a combination, so it was natural to start working with that indication, to learn more about the EMTT effect.

10 clients, 3 treatments in 2 weeks, 4000 pulses, intensity 8, 8 hz and then I saw a reduction in pain in 37%, stiffness 45% and difficulty 35% at the WOMAC score, right after the 3rd treatment. These results showed being better, than what I experienced with treatment with laser before.

Then I started combining EMTT and ESWT for knee osteoarthritis, and after initial treatments, clients can go between 5-8 weeks with higher QoL and less pain, between a single session.

Fractures
As one of the first cases that showed the potentiel of EMTT, was when i had an Ice-hockey player with a Scaphoid fracture. The wrist was fixated with a cast, and there was no direct access to the fracture area for ESWT application.

I decided to do a treatment of 5000 pulses, and after the first 400 pulses, the client could feel vibration/tingeling sensation in the bone. That showed the potentiel for deeper treatment in the body, and the ability of working non-invasive, even when access is limited. In total we did 3 session with succes, in quicker healing and pain reduction.

General approach:
As shown for several years, the combination of ESWT and RSW have an enhanced effect in different indication. I believe that in the next 10 years, we will see even more studies, showing the combination between EMTT and ESWT will make significant difference in patients outcome.

In the same time, due to holding arm, it is possible to do more efficient treatments, due the ability of applying EMTT in one place, and then ESWT in another area.

Conclusion
With the addition of EMTT to the treatment domain, I’ve seen
Reduction in the number of sessions
Increased pain relief for especially larger non-specific pain areas
Increased elasticity in the tissue
Enhanced effect of ESWT
Tension release in muscles and increased circulation
Decrease in inflammation in tissue (without adding pain)
More efficient and holistic workflow in treatment

So in total, I am very happy with the results i gets from using the MAGNETOLITH in my clinical setup, and can only recommend you to try it.

Undervisningsuge i Saudi Arabien

Jeddah, Mekka, Buraidah, Riyadh, Damman
